We are seeking a skilled and experienced OSP Engineer with a focus on road moves and relocation projects to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

  • Field/Design OSP BAU work orders to include road move projects, aerial work, and permitting.
  • Working understanding of DOT schematics (i.e. civil prints)
  • Work with state/local/federal DOT and the various utilities to plan the necessary telecom relocation plan. Working with DOT schematics, visit the “field,” document the current telecom facilities, and design the “solution” plan in concert with the DOT plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, construction, operations, and sales, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine project feasibility and requirements.
  • Produce field notes, quality control construction prints to provide client with exceptional work.
  • Ability to track progress against milestones and meet all engineering requirements and dates.
  • Coordinate with State and County to see if facilities are in conflict.
  • Engineer is responsible to provide regular updates to management and to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • The OSP Engineer will perform all aspects of OSP engineering including but not limited to the engineering of line extensions for service order activity, pole replacements facility installations, and facility relocation.
  • The Engineer will be familiar with OSP design and planning, construction, and have the ability to perform a cost analysis to determine the most cost-effective and efficient manner of the placement of communications facilities.
    OSP staking, work order package preparation including but not limited to field notes, cut sheets, schematics, and acquiring permits and private rights-of-way.

Qualifications

  • Preferably 2 years of experience in OSP engineering with road move and relocation projects
  • Proven track record of successfully engineering projects from conception to completion
  • Strong understanding of plans sent by county and state
  • Previous experience in aerial, buried and underground outside plant; construction experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively under pressure
  • Good computer skills
  • Previous experience with Brightspeed or Lumen systems preferred.
