ISP Engineer

We are seeking an experienced ISP Engineer with a strong background in core transport technology to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of core network operations and experience working with platforms such as Ciena, Infinera, Optellian, and Cisco. Prior experience with Brightspeed or Lumen environments is a plus. This role requires a detail-oriented engineer with excellent troubleshooting skills and a passion for optimizing transport networks for efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage core transport network solutions to support high-speed, resilient connectivity for customers.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment from Ciena, Infinera, Optellian, and Cisco to ensure high-performance standards.
• Collaborate with network architects and other engineers to improve network performance and reliability.
• Work closely with Brightspeed/Lumen protocols, optimizing configurations for maximum network efficiency.
• Develop, test, and deploy firmware and software updates across various platforms.
• Perform root cause analysis for complex network issues and implement corrective measures.
• Assist in capacity planning and scaling the network to meet growing demand.
• Document network design and architecture, creating clear and comprehensive network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience as a network engineer, with specific expertise in core transport networks.
• Proficiency with Ciena, Infinera, Optellian, and Cisco platforms.
• Familiarity with Brightspeed and Lumen protocols or environments is highly desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
• Experience with transport technologies such as DWDM, OTN, and carrier Ethernet.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
