Fiber Splicers

The Fiber Optic Splice Technician is primary responsible for fusion splicing, verification testing, troubleshooting and fiber optic cable repair. The Splicing Technician is responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance of company equipment as well as manual labor needed to support the construction operations of Butler America Telecom LLC ongoing commitment to deliver outstanding service, sustainable sales growth and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• All paperwork test requirements
• Maintaining the truck, stocking, cleaning
• Maintaining a safe work environment
• Follow all customer requirements while working on any customer networks
• Perform heavy physical labor

Job Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Be able to discriminate between colors
• Not be afraid of heights or confined spaces.
• 1 to 4 years’ experience
• Must be available to work any shift and On-call rotation required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficient Computer skills
• Ability to Handle microfiber, prep, clean, fusion Splice, and test.
• Ability to build and troubleshoot Optical splice Enclosures.
• Knowledge in Fiber testing and deciphering test results.
• Able to test/troubleshoot fiber using OTDR and power light meters.
• Must be able to work in outside weather conditions for prolonged periods.
• Must be comfortable working outside, seated or standing for prolonged periods.
• Must have experience using Fusion Splicers, cleavers, OTDRS, and any other common fiber testing equipment.
• Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
